The Lunar New Year or the Chinese New Year is less than three weeks away, the first day of the new Lunar Year will be on February 5th, this event is one of the biggest and most celebrated holidays of the year in Asia and around the world.
If you are planning a trip to Asia during this holiday, expect to face some difficulties due to congestion and limited available hotel rooms and services, as most hotel rooms are already sold out, and business activity slows down during the holiday season.
All major airports in Asia will see an increase in international traffic, expect Hong Kong – VHHH, and Macau – VMMC to be extremely busy between January 31st and until the end of the holiday on February 12th.
Also, expect difficulty in obtaining General Aviation / Business Aviation flight permissions due to Civil Aviation Authority closures in many parts of Asia.
Hong Kong’s CAA will be closed from the middle of the day February 04th till Feb 07th.
In addition, the Chinese CAA will be off duty from February 03rd to 11th.
Ground handling services and airport transportation will be in high demand don’t expect to get any service if you request last-minute.

If you haven’t prepared for your travel / flight yet, its a very good time to do so! Don’t wait any longer. Last minute arrangements can get expensive and very difficult to manage.
